Cybersecurity leader Palo Alto Networks announced a counterattack to attacks by deploying the fourth generation of PA-3400 and PA-5400 Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW) and unveiled PAN-OS 10.2 Nebula.
At the heart of Nebula’s upgrade is online deep learning, an industry first for zero-day threat collection, analysis and interpretation. This translates to nearly 50% more evasive threats detected and six times faster prevention. The release includes several new and improved security services.
IoT Security 2.0 provides device visibility and leverages ML to ensure automated policy creation for visible and invisible devices. Advanced Threat Prevention unveils a new Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), using AI and deep learning techniques in the cloud, taking analysis ‘offline’, ‘online’.
Advanced URL Filtering offers real-time, online analysis based on deep learning to protect against web attacks, ransomware and evasive attacks. AIOps is here. The new service relies on ML to predict NGFW disruptions before a negative impact greater than 50%. Palo has extended DNS security to defend against advanced DNS-based attacks, boasting 40% better DNS threat coverage than the competition.

In PA-3400 and PA-5400 Series ML-Powered NGFWs, Palo Alto promises a three-fold improvement in security performance, covering the most rugged data center, smallest branch office, enterprise campus and the periphery of the company. Along with improved performance, the new firewalls offer up to half the rack space utilization and better power efficiency.

(ESG). “Palo Alto Networks recognizes these issues and extends its machine learning capabilities by putting deep learning detection inline to prevent attacks before they affect the victim.”
